Everest Base Camp Trek for Charity 2025
The ultimate charity challenge... trek to Everest Base Camp for young adults with cancer! Immerse yourselves deep into the Himalayas and all they have to offer with breathtaking views, souring mountains, deep culture and beautiful people. A once in a life
The Challenge
Follow in the footsteps of the great explorers and join us for an unforgettable trek to the foot of the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest, standing tall at 8,848m. We’ll trek from the picturesque village of Lukla, nestled in the Nepalese Himalayas, to the famous base camp of Mount Everest and back again! Our route allows us to acclimatise gently before reaching high altitude scenery, as it leads us through Sherpa country to this tranquil mountain range of gentle giants. We’ll discover some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable from start to finish on this unforgettable trek as we make our way to the colourful prayer flags of Everest Base Camp.
Make a Difference
Your participation in this challenge can make a life changing difference to the lives of young adults with cancer.
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for everything that you and Ella Dawson Foundation have done for me. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for all of the support you have provided. It has been a breath of fresh air and I really don't think I would be the person I am today without it. I was able to process a lot of trauma I experienced through my cancer journey with the help of Nicky (clinical psychologist) and I will be forever grateful for that. Also, the regular yoga sessions with Katy have been incredible. I have learnt to love my post-cancer self and build strength. Since I have received your support, I have felt less alone in the scary cancer world and you will always hold a special place in my heart."
Thus young person came to us for specialist support to help process the trauma experienced during diagnosis and treatment. We supported this young person with a course of clinical psychology and yoga from our specialist team. A course of clinical psychology costs on average £600-800 to provide life changing differences and help young adults navigate through mental health struggles such has trauma and PTSD. A course of 1-2-1 yoga costs on average £250 to provide a safe space to practice mindfulness, restoration and rebuilding practices. Your participation in this challenge could help fund a holistic programme for a young adult going through cancer. You can help to make life changing differences. Since our launch in 2022, we have provided highly impactful support to over 350 young adults with cancer and their families, thanks to the incredibly generosity of people like you.
