September 5th 6:30pm: What is important to you: Values based Workshop
It is common in your late teens and 20s to feel lost, unsure about who you are or where you want to be. It can be a time of uncertainty, change and transitions. All that, with a cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship it can be very overwhelming and this workshops provides a safe space to think about these things and help work through them.
In this workshop we will work through elements of our Life Notes journal focusing on defining core values, using them in everyday life, goal setting, understanding your inner voice, wheel of life, affirmations and power statements.
This workshop has previously been very successful, here's what people remembered most about the session:
- “Getting my opinions and ideas heard”
- “ I found it very helpful!...It went by so quickly”
- “Finding my core values.. I didn’t know where to start”
- “Learning how to turn negative feelings into positive affirmations”
October 3rd @ 6:30pm: Radical Rest
This session is all about prioritising wellness, relaxation and restoration as Katy guides you through a wonderful Radical Rest practice. Radical Rest is a nourishing practice that supports and meets you in the moment. It is movement guidance with no expectations, just a curiosity to notice breath and body sensations and support sleep recovery, injury or help to decompress after a busy week. We're mainly laid down for the whole of the practice and so this practice is suitable for all.
November 7th @ 6:30pm: Fuel your Future
Led by our Oncology Dietician Hazel, this workshop provides a practical way to make sustainable lifestyle changes. Hazel will take us through top tips around food and cancer post treatment, she will tailor this towards behaviour change techniques to help make all the great changes sustainable in the long term! One great way to connect is through making and creating together, Hazel will guide us all to make a simple snack together to get that practical inspiration and know how!
It is a great way to meet others going through similar and connect over shared experience.
December 5th @ 6:30pm: Creative Cuppa
In this session we simply meet, chat and create with our favourite cuppa! We will provide you with all the tools you need to produce your very own handmade Christmas Cards to kick start the festive season. Together, we will get creative and chat with other young people living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis.
Our workshops are led by you, if you would like to suggest a topic for a future workshop or having any further questions please contact Tasha on tasha@elladawsonfoundation.org.uk or call on 07418 613885.
